Legal analysis on real estate situations can be done at the consultation, at my office. I sometimes provide general statements about real estate law without regard to specific fact scenarios, but they are very broad statements. Casual opinions on law are given throughout the real estate industry, and it is not unusual for real estate agents and brokers to misunderstand the law on complex subject matters. Smart real estate agents always defer to a real estate lawyer or attorney when deciding a crucial element in a transaction.

Consultations : I charge $200 for the first consultation and that can include up to one and a half hours of time. It is a flat fee and so I usually do not pro-rate the fee if there is less than one hour. On very simple matters I do make exceptions. Most real estate matters will involve one hour of my time. Remember that civil law quite often requires that the party wishing to take legal action do so within a limited amount of time, so do NOT delay in getting legal advice.
